Juicy Turkey Burgers
Ingredients
1 pound 99% ground turkey, raw
¼ cup pork panko
¼ cup yellow onion, grated
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon paprika, sweet or smoked
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, optional
¾ teaspoon salt, or to taste
½ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper, or to taste
olive oil spray
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 leaves butterhead lettuce
1 avocado, thinly sliced
*Optional toppings: red onion rings, tomato slices
instructions
In a large mixing bowl combine ground turkey, pork panko, onion, garlic, worcestershire sauce, paprika, pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper; using your hands to mix until thoroughly combined.
Divide mixture into 4 patties.
Set a large 12-inch skillet over medium heat and spray with olive oil.
To the hot pan add the patties and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes, or until browned on the bottom.
Flip over and cook for about 5 more minutes ( or until the internal temperature of the patties reaches 165˚F).
Remove turkey patties from heat, top with cheese.
Place turkey burgers in lettuce leaves.
Top turkey burgers with avocado and red onion/tomato slices if using and serve.
