What brought you to One Life?
I work retail in North County and a regular client of mine came in one day and was thin – super thin! Elizabeth, my client, started telling me about One Life and Dr. Haynes and how it is so different from all the other diets I have tried. I have done Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, fasting etc. After Elizabeth told me about One Life – I had a really good feeling about it and I thought to myself, if this does not work I would give up for good.
How much weight did you lose?
I spoke to my husband to let him know that I really wanted to try One Life and that I thought it would be different than all the others that I had done in the past. I told him that if it did not work, I would not force him into watching me fail on another diet ever again. We had a trip to St. Thomas coming up and Dr. Haynes assured me that I would reach my goal before we left. I knew I wanted to lose 50 pounds, so I thought Dr. Haynes was crazy to be so certain. I have not weighed my goal weight since I was 30. I did the diet for about 4.5 months and lost 55lbs. I ended up changing my goal 5 pounds more (55lbs to lose) as I was feeling so great and wanted a little wiggle room once I started maintenance.
Have you kept it off?
I like the real food aspect of the diet. I was able to customize the diet to fit my lifestyle. The one on one interaction each week was key. I consistently lost weight every week and always enjoyed going to the clinic. The weekly B-12 shot made a huge difference. It gave me the energy I needed each week to exercise. I am currently coming in and doing maintenance. Everyone in the office is so positive, cheerful and fun. I have really developed great relationships with everyone. I have never experienced that with any other diet.
What has Dr. Haynes and One Life taught you about losing weight?
That losing weight for good must be a life changing experience. One Life was a life changing experience for me! It cannot be a diet for a quick fix. It has to be forever. One Life taught me a new, smart and healthy way of eating. I was eating all the wrong things that I thought were healthy. I used to eat a lot of carbs and while doing the One Life Diet, I never even craved them.
Has One Life changed the perception of yourself?
Yes! This was a life changing experience. This really is my last diet I will ever do. It is not even a diet to me anymore, it is the way I eat. It is who I am now! I eat veggies and I used to never eat veggies. I am now running and going to the gym regularly. I am 58, and in my recent book club meeting, a new member looked at me and asked me “How do you stay so fit?” It was such a great feeling. I look better now than ever. I have 3 grandkids and before I just used to sit on the couch and watch TV with them, now I am out and about and running around with them. So YES my life has changed, I am in heaven now! My husband has even lost 25lbs because we have changed the way we eat.
Any tips or tricks that helped you out along the way to your goal?
For one, the protein bars are amazing and I always have one on me to keep me going. My favorite is the 'Chocolate Covered Peanut' and the 'Sweet n' Salty'. Another tip is when we go out to dinner, which we do often, I always bring my own low calorie dressing with me. The Walden’s packets are great for the purse.
What does the One Life difference mean to you?
When I reached my goal, everyone was emotional. The staff at One Life is so caring and encouraging and they are all for real. They really believed in me. One Life changed my life and skinny feels SO GOOD. I am turning heads again.
What would you say to someone thinking about joining One Life?
DO IT TODAY! I wish I had found One Life sooner. I continue to pay it forward over and over again as I have already had numerous friends and family join and they will continue to tell people etc. One Life changed my life and I want to continue passing it on to help others change their life.
